From our origin as the Coastal Bend AIDS Foundation to the present day, the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation has stood at the forefront of the fight against HIV for nearly 40 years — leading with compassion, advocacy, and unwavering support for our community.

Ryan White was a teenager diagnosed with AIDS in 1984 after receiving a blood transfusion for his hemophilia. He became a prominent public advocate against the stigma and misconceptions surrounding HIV/AIDS, leading to the establishment of the largest federally funded program for HIV/AIDS care and treatment in the United States.
